Since 2006, The Next Web Conference has been bringing together tech industry leaders, investors, journalists, and rising stars — promising startups. More than 17 000 tech enthusiasts gather together to discuss insights, trends, and upcoming challenges of the tech world.
This year is the second year in a row that we participated, and it’s still as exciting as the first time we’ve been there.
With over 10000 attendees on both days of the event including some prominent leaders in these areas, the conference was a great opportunity for our company to present our – Extended Teams model – a service that provides a new and improved software development solution to companies of any scale.
Event highlights:
In terms of structure and promotional materials, we must praise the organizational team, everything was extremely well prepared, and our booth was perfect: the bright yellow color and our “BRIDGE THE TECH GAP” goal were on point, the videos rolling on the screens were so useful and the company brochures had all the information we needed for this event.
The TNW conference happened in Amsterdam, a city famous for its thriving tech scene. The atmosphere was like a festival, with lots of learning, making connections, and celebrating. People came together, worked together, and felt united in their mission to create a positive and impactful future.
Another highlight of the conference was the impressive lineup of speakers from some of the most popular companies worldwide like Google, Microsoft, Intel, Warner Bros, and Unilever, as well as some public servants like the prime minister of the Netherlands, the CTO of the Department of Defense of the US, and many more.
In a few words, it was fully packed, long queues, and people were hyped about AI, and how it can help companies.
For those who couldn’t be there, these are our 5 key takeaways:

Day 1: Bridging the tech gap: Netherlands embraces talent from Moldova
The conference kicked off with a burst of energy and excitement. Attendees were eager to delve into various aspects of our company, Moldova, its culture, our nation, our onboarding process, and our developer approach. We had also the pleasure of meeting individuals who visited our booth with networking and partnership intentions.
A motivating and inspirational moment at the event was when we were approached by one of our competitors who expressed their admiration for the impressive accomplishments we have achieved in just three years of operation. The competitor also praised the quality of our office space, the appealing opportunities we provide to the developers, and the idea of a double culture ring is a very interesting concept.
Food trucks, performances, and a lot of activities: TTT [table tennis for 3 players], padel, hydration games, and many contests around the booths and not only. There was even a magician! Besides that, there was a karaoke boat available, but the line was too long, so we decided to abandon the idea.
Of course, we had to end the day with a picture and a refreshing drink.
That’s our dream team on day 1, geared up and ready to impress!
Day 2: Ending the event on a high note
After the first day of the conference started off so well, expectations were set sky-high for Day 2 of the event. And TNW 2023 did not disappoint.
As networking was the core focus, we got the chance to discuss with industry experts and entrepreneurs possible synergies.
Our team got the most out of this day, as people were approaching with questions more and more, we got the chance to explain how we go the extra mile and create an environment where developers can learn, grow professionally, and take care of their health. Also, the fact that we promote a double culture ring and continuous development, both personal and professional, seemed to be an interesting feature for most people.
Given the fact that on the second day, we already settled with the number of booth attendees, we also had time to go to some panel discussions. The topics which we liked a lot were: hyper-personalization and human-centered-office. Because we have a large number of employees and a spacious office, we thought that the ideas like cocreation at the office (asking employees to participate in arranging their work area), as well as utilizing a band map to easily locate different teams or individuals within the office.
CONCLUSION
After these two days, our bodies were weary, but our spirits were invigorated, leaving us feeling fulfilled and motivated to carry on with the work we’ve been dedicated to.
In a nutshell, the TNW conference was an experience to remember for BackstageIT, and it is a pleasure to be associated with TNW. This year, we took our event game to the next level, resulting in a lot of quality leads that we can’t wait to collaborate with.
