1. Who we are
Backstage IT B.V. ("Backstage IT", "we", "us", or "our") is a company registered in the Netherlands. We help software companies build extended development teams based in Moldova. Our registered address and contact details are available at the bottom of this page.
Backstage IT B.V. is the data controller for personal data collected through this website and our services. This means we determine the purposes and means by which your personal data is processed.
We also operate a development office in Chișinău, Moldova (Backstage IT Group SRL), which acts as a data processor on our behalf for certain operational activities.

We do not collect sensitive personal data (health, financial, or biometric data) through this website.

Our Moldova office
Backstage IT Group SRL in Chișinău may access relevant contact or operational data to support business activities. Appropriate safeguards are in place under Article 46 GDPR.
Legal requirements
We may disclose data where required by law, court order, or in response to a lawful request from a public authority.
6. How long we keep your data
- Contact form submissions (2 years from last interaction, unless a business relationship begins)
- Client contact data (duration of the contract + 7 years (legal and tax obligations))
- Website analytics data (14 months (standard analytics retention))
- Email correspondence (3 years from last contact, unless a contract is in place)
After the applicable retention period, we securely delete or anonymise your data.

As a data subject under GDPR, you have the following rights:
Right of access
Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Right to rectification
Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
Right to erasure
Request deletion of your data where we no longer have a lawful basis to retain it.
Right to restrict processing
Ask us to limit how we use your data in certain circumstances.
Right to data portability
Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
Right to object
Object to processing based on legitimate interests or for direct marketing.
Right to withdraw consent
Where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time without affecting prior processing.

Lodge a complaint with the Dutch DPA (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) at autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.

8. Cookies
Our website uses cookies, small text files stored by your browser. On your first visit, our cookie banner asks for consent per category, so you decide for yourself what you allow.
Necessary: these cookies are required for the site to function, to store your cookie choice and to protect the contact form against spam. They are always on.
Analytics and advertising personalisation: we only place these cookies with your consent. We use Google Analytics for statistics on how visitors use the site, and Google Ads for advertising measurement and personalisation, storing the reference of your ad click in a first-party cookie. The cookies we use:
YouTube videos load only after you click play yourself, so no cookies are placed before you start the video. Refusing cookies does not limit the site's core functionality.
9. International data transfers
Backstage IT is based in the Netherlands (EU). Some of our service providers and our Moldova office may process data outside the European Economic Area (EEA).
Where data is transferred outside the EEA, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, including:
Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission, adequacy decisions where applicable, or other approved transfer mechanisms under GDPR Chapter V.
Moldova is not currently subject to an EU adequacy decision. Transfers to our Moldova office are covered by Standard Contractual Clauses and internal data processing agreements.
10. Security
We take reasonable and appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These include:
Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), access controls and authentication requirements for internal systems, regular review of our data handling practices, and staff awareness of data protection obligations.
No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. If you have concerns about a specific data security issue, please contact us immediately at contact@backstage-it.nl.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
